42 Cranbourn Street (Leicester Square Box Office)

 OUR MISSION

We visited a wide range of ‘discount’ theatre booths across London with the aim to source the BEST PRICED Upper Circle seat for The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium, May 2012. At this time the Box Office’s Upper Circle seat were priced between £9-25*. We visited Leicester Square Box Office (42 Cranbourn Street, WC2H 7AN), to check out what ‘discounts’ they were offering along with the quality of their service. PRICE If I came back tomorrow I could have a £25 Upper Circle Seat (Quoted face value was £25)
SEAT Upper Circle but I was not told where exactly or shown a seat plan.
PAYMENT/COLLECTION METHOD I could pay with either cash or card and I could collect my ticket at the booth.
SERVICE The woman was friendly and helpful – However I noticed that the booth was advertising £12.50 War Horse tickets, which I know to be questionable as the show consitently sells out. I asked the seller about these tickets and unsurprisingly they did not have any in stock. I asked when they may return to stock and she informed me that they have never had any of these priced tickets since she has worked their and the lowest priced seats they had at the booth were £65.
STAR YES – Leicester Square Box office is registered with STAR (and the logo is mad visible in the booth). However I do not feel STAR would condone the advertisement of tickets that have not existed for a long while, if at all.
OVERALL Other than tkts, this was the most fairly priced and honest booth in terms of my requirements, however the advertisement of tickets that do not exist within the booth has lost it points.
